A Trip to Blue Mountains

♦

Catherine, one of my best friends, lives in Sydney Australia. We were classmates in the elementary school. After we graduated in the elementary, she spent her secondary and college education in the city while I stayed in the province. Although we were far apart, we continued to keep in touch with each other through letters. With the advent of the internet now, we try to find time to chat at least once a month.

Life is a journey. For her, no one ever reaches her destination without hard work. She’s a woman who could practically afford whatever she wants now . She now can afford to be comfortable in her entire life. Her sacrifices and struggle paid off.

Last weekend as we chat, she surprised me with an invitation to spend the next summer with her in her home. She’s offering me a group trip to Blue Mountains with my husband . She said that day tours run from Sydney and along the way to the many towns in the Blue Mountains are beautiful English gardens that I will surely love to see. (She very well know that I love gardens.)

She’s telling me of the scenic sky way – on a horizontal cable car ride across the 300-meter deep gorge above Katoomba Falls. She said that the mountains appear blue because of the haze produced by light reflecting off the fine droplets of oil given off by the eucalyptus trees.

Wow, a visit to Sydney will not be complete without a trip to Blue Mountains . What with my with my best friend and with my husband along!
