This has been one of the most discouraging baseball seasons on record for me personally. As an avid Atlanta Braves fan, I felt certain our team would make the playoffs this year. However, since we had one of the largest collapses in the history of major league baseball, we will once again be watching the postseason from home.
As I watch the playoffs, I cannot help but wonder what might have been. Last year I looked into Direct tv deals, and found a package that would allow me to watch every Braves game. I watched all summer long, and with a month left to go it looked like we were going to be guaranteed a playoff spot. However, we were terrible in the month of September, and if it were not for Boston’s epic collapse in the American League, we would be the talk of every sports radio and television host in the country.
These last few years it has been tough to be Braves fan. We continually put a quality team together, but we are not able to get the job done when it counts. I am sure that when baseball season rolls around next year I will be excited and ready for the season to start, but it is tough to picture that the way I feel right now.
