Lot and Nene..have proven a lasting relationship..married for 39 years since 1972..to talk about their “Secrets to a lifelong successful marriage!”
Lot: ” What I am going to say are not “my secrets” anymore but are “my open” formula .There are many stages in marriage.During the honeymoon stage both the groom and the bride seem to have a bed of roses.Wedding days are always filled with joy,love,optimism and hope , however, after the honeymoon stage,the couple faces the reality= a life full of challenges and hardships.Learning to overcome selfishness and pride ; and to be open to one another foregoing personal preferences for the sake of the other-is the key to a happy marriage for me.”
I have oftentimes wondered how many of us -married couples-believe that ‘happy marriages are not made in heaven but are painstakingly “worked on” right here on earth.
Nene:” Married life has lots of storms to overcome. Recognize your worth.Accept your spouse for what he is and don’t look for perfection from him.Prayer-the very effective means we use to assure ourselves of our own life in faith.”
All of us have our own share of difficulties and dangers . With the faith and conviction that God will find means for us to overcome all obstacles,let us call on Him for help.He will always oblige.
