It is one of the most important things in life one can have – health.
The latest statistics of adult obesity shows that about 1/3 of the adults are obese. Approximately 17 percent of children and adolescents aged 2 -19 years are also obese. During the past 20 years, the number of obese has been increasing and its rate remains high. Today it is a growing health problem because obesity increases the risks for many diseases like coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes , etc.
A person is obese when his weight is 20% or more above the ideal weight.
Andrea, my daughter-in-law, is celebrating her 25th birthday today (Happy Birthday to you my dear Ann and may you have many returns of the day!) and we looked for a nice birthday gift for her. We bought her two beautiful pieces of plus size clothes in the mall. Although for her, motherhood is the most encompassing, time consuming and demanding endeavor yet she is still struggling to win her personal battle against obesity and overweight.
I understand she is engaged in a long-term weight control program right now. She has been practicing an intelligent way of eating and eating the right food. This time she chooses the food she eats. She is now conscious of her calorie intake. She knows she can eat proper foods and become trim and enjoy it.
Asked if have some other things to say, she answered, ” Health is wealth. I pray to the Lord to give me strength and let me be able to exercise..and He does!”
