Rugs anyone?

♦

It was actually the third red rug I had purchased. I have been collecting rugs since the 1990’s. My interest for rugs started when a family friend gave me my first “collection item.” It was an extra soft shaggy synthetic red rug in fantastic color. Every time she comes home from work abroad, she brings me a rug. She had already given me 5 different kinds of rugs which make up the bulk of my collection, which numbers a dozen already. Four came from another friend working in the Middle East.

My sister’s collection is even more impressive. She collected these things over the years. Every rug in her collection is red, has a red background or is accented with red. She just orders her red rugs on-line at discounted prices. She loves superb quality rugs in traditional designs while I like mine in modern designs. I want washable rugs in washable acrylics with vibrant color combinations and designs.

I have one in my room, a rust-colored rug. This rug has a sentimental value to me because it was a birthday gift by my sister who has worked as a nurse in the Middle East.
