My family and close friends made sure that it would be an unforgettable night for me when I celebrated my 54th birthday recently. The wizardry of my daughter, who is an artist , an epitome of style, elegance and breeding was obvious as the hall was laid out with tables draped in shimmering red and white tasseled silk organza decorated with beautiful flowers. (She once dreamt of taking up interior designs but she landed into the degree of bachelor of laws.)
Aside from my husband, my son and his wife, and a daughter, only four close family friends and a special guest attended my birthday celebration. Unlike my previous birthday parties, the day was intended for my family members only. We had the dinner at 6:30pm in a restaurant situated in a hilly place and no one aside from us occupied the spacious hall.
The place was very silent and only an ardent music filled the air. As the celebrator, I gave a snappy speech counting and thanking my blessings all throughout the years. My guests were treated with sumptuous chicken curry, spaghetti, tossed green salad with creamy dressing, sizzling steak and sizzling blue marlin and warmed by San Mig lights and fruit juices.
The evening’s master of ceremony were my cousin and her husband in his plus size coats. The affair was not a so noisy one but I dig its solemnity. It was so great a feeling to have only my family and very close friends during my natal day celebration – a FAMILY AFFAIR!
May the good Lord grant me more birthdays to come.
