You cannot solve other people’s problems

♦

At times people come to you with their tales of woe. You can offer them kindness or be a sounding board for them. However, they are really the only ones who can solve things for themselves. You cannot travel their journey for them; we must each walk our own path.

In my younger years, I was totally reactive to those asking for favors, especially financial help. I easily reached out to help others until I realized helping out these kind of people  may not be really helping them. You know the type. They complain, are negative in their outlook, are unkind, mean and self-centered. With this current difficult economy, don’t take chances with your money. So beware – don’t be a victim.

My best friend in her mid 70’s, is pursuing in court someone whom she tried to help financially. Because of her great desire to be of help she entrusted the amount of almost ten thousand dollars. After almost a year of waiting for the payment, she decided  to take legal action against the debtor. So my best friend hired a law firm which offers her quality litigation services from pre-trial investigation through trial and all necessary appeals. She needs an equally committed and talented attorney to guarantee aggressive representation  and easy collaboration with her counsel.

As a result, I have become  selective of friends. I have come to prefer honest and true friends over glamorous ones. So  protect your well being by avoiding the destructive and negative energy of  unworthy people.
