For those who are vulnerable to back pains and osteoporosis, minimize back stress while sleeping. Choose the right foam mattress. For me, I like the mattress of medium firmness (and not too firm) because it is good for my back. Good sleeping position is one important matter to consider in order to avoid back pains. I feel so much relief if I sleep on my side with my knees bent and having a pillow in between my knees.
At 50, the reduction of estrogen levels in women is one of the risk factors for developing osteoporosis which is out of our control. We are likely to menopause in the late 40’s. The older we get, the greater is our risk. But they say, it is never ever too late. Always remember the basic C- D -E”s of preventing osteoporosis, namely: C- Calcium intake, D- Vitamin D, E- weight-bearing Exercises and prevent Falls. Of course, we ain’t getting any younger.
