“You’ve Got A Friend”– a song originally written and performed by Miss Carole King, became a hit in 1971. This song became one of my favorites. I was in the high school then.
‘Twas a rainy Monday morning, on the 3rd of December 2012 when Miss King unveiled the star, the 2,486th, on the Walk of Fame actual awarding ceremony. It is in the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard where these brass stars are embedded and immortalized.
I heard her said, “my heart is so full of joy at seeing so many people that I know and love who have come out today along with THOSE OF YOU I DON’T KNOW!” .. and that includes me for I was there — a live witness when Carole King cemented her star, across the street from the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.
“There’s no one like Carole King!”
Another things which were immortalized are the nearly 200 handprints, footprints and signatures of celebrities in the fore court of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Maybe, in order to preserve their prints, the celebrities were made to step on, or write in the wet cement ( just like lying on memory foam mattresses which take the shape and follow the contours of the body).
