I really don’t understand the ABC’s of electronics.
Thanks to my son who has ample patience explaining to me the benefits of having a flat screen TV over our conventional TV with cold cathode florescent lamp, ( CCFL to illuminate the LCD pixels ). Obviously, CCFL-type televisions have fallen out of favor among customers (that includes me) and opt to get the type which employ tiny light -emitting diodes, the so-called LED TV.
Eventually, I have understood the major benefits of choosing a LED TV. Among all other HDTV , they consume the least power and have lower heat emission, are eco- friendly due to its mercury-free design and are much easier to install.
Thanks so much again to my son for procuring a 42-inch model ( complete with audio enhancement devices such as stereo speakers ) which is just about great for our living room! For the time being, we hung it freely on the wall but I promise I will look for flat screen tv stands made of metal and glass (designed to suit my taste).
