At the age of 1 year old, my grandson manifests his inkling to music. He likes to strike the strings of my guitar and loves to hum and sing especially the Alphabet song. “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” is his lullaby- his cradle song. The sounds of any music instruments amaze him most. He claps , dances and sing along especially to the sound of “Siyempre” when it airs in our local television at night. Just a couple of days ago, he has seen a piano and he spent a lot of time happily tinkling it.
I am reminded of my best friend’s grandson , too, who at the age of 6, has formed the “Jewel Band” composed of little children, his age. Lately, their group won in the national musical tv competition. Their drummer is a cute lovable girl , who, ( I was told) started to love to drum at very early age of 3 when she saw some pieces of drum samples in their store room. By the way, the girl’s father- a lawyer, is a drummer.
How I wish to see my grandson , Eulo, on stage, drum to his heart’s desire someday.
You should know how fascinated a lola is to see a gifted grandchild!
