To anyone who enjoys being in the kitchen preparing meals , I will share to you some kitchen tips. Here they are:
#1. To preserve gingers, place them inside a transparent plastic and freeze. It is easier if gingers are frozen because you may grate as much as you need for a recipe;
#2. Use frozen grapes instead of ice cubes for wine. They won’t dilute the wine as they melt;
#3. Wash the shrimps before freezing . When the time comes that you need them for a recipe, washing them again with tap water will render them flavorless. Just thaw them inside the refrigerator or in a microwave before cooking ;
#4. Keep potatoes and onions separately. If kept in the same container, potatoes tend to spoil easily:
#5. Place a slice of apple if storing brown sugar so that sugar won’t harden; and
#6. Place an apple inside the brown paper bag of unripe fruits such as avocado, banana or tomatoes . The apple will give off ethylene gas which will speed up the process of ripening…
