In an article in the internet entitled, ” Spanking Linked to Mental Illness , says Study”, the author pointed out :
” A new study published… may cause parents to think more carefully before laying a hand on their little ones…We are looking at people who need physical punishment as a regular means to discipline their children”…
“They estimate that as much as 7% of adult mental illness may be attributable to childhood physical punishment, including slapping, shoving, grabbing, and hitting. The study reports that spanking ups the risk of major depression by 41%, alcohol and drug by 59% and mania by 93%, among other findings…”
Admittedly, however, there is no definite , exact and effective set ways to specific children. As we know, each child is unique. Parents know their individual children best and will therefore be in the best position to choose the style. As parents, we need to discipline with love and not with anger.
The future generation will certainly depend on how their parents handle the youth. As parents, we absolutely do not perceive a society of people with mental illnesses.
The future is in the hands of the parents of the youth.
