During my last visit to my dentist, I asked about how he manages to trick his own toddler to brush her teeth. I have two granddaughters who are toddlers now, a 3-year old who is a girl and the other is a year younger- a boy. The attitudes of my two grandchildren towards tooth-brushing are not similar. But just the same, it is a struggle for both. Both show tantrums if I help them brush.
Although theirs are just milk teeth and will be replaced by permanent ones as they grow older, it is still best that they won’t have cavities. We know so well how it is to have toothaches.
How to trick toddlers into brushing their teeth— here are the only two ways I know…
1. Have a little camaraderie to make tooth-brushing fun; and
2. Try to brush along with them
Do you know of some other techniques on how to trick toddlers to brush? If you have any suggestions, I would be very happy to know.
By the way, before I sign out, I could clearly recall when I started to brush my teeth..It was when we were given free toothbrush and toothpaste in school from a presidentiable– oh no ! I was Grade III then. No wonder… LOL
