In our Religious Instruction Class, there was one student who volunteered to speak about his encounter with the Lord. He seemed so confident but most of his classmates were not interested to listen to him. (Apparently, most of my students are inattentive and do not care about our class.)
He spoke about the many difficulties in his life that he went through- poverty and lack of parental guidance which drove him to be with the company of his selected friends, “Tell me, how can I avoid doing something I don’t want if my friends are doing it?” Upon hearing this question, his fellow students began listening to him until he ended his speech with- “It’s never too late to know Jesus!”
Are we still shocked when we hear students taking drugs? Currently, we are experiencing the highest level of drug addiction than at any time in our history.
Why is there no guidance? Parents should be role models to their children and must fight back against drug addiction at home level.
Anyone who has a family member who is struggling with drug addicition needs to get him into an addiction treatment plan like the opiate rapid detox – so that he can receive a treatment to defeat his problem.
