“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” – – Helen Keller
‘Twas a cool Monday, a morning after a hectic day of our momentous family reunion. My sister with her son, must be leaving home soon to be back to her family in another city but has agreed to stay for another day for an adventure.
We’ve got to have more fun for kicks. A bold risky undertaking entered her mind. She said, “Why can we not take an outdoor adventurous activity to another town?” So , we were four in the group, composed of the two of them , my daughter and me.
We took a public utility van, ( our private car was not available that time) which took us to Tibiao, Antique within one and a half hours. We thought that we were bound for a foot trail but upon embarking, there were two motorcycles for hire on stand-by, locally known as “habal-habal” which spared us from a long walk along the mountainous area with wet slippery roads. We were decided to explore this place without any tour guide for more thrill and excitement.
As we took our first stop-over, to register and to take a few pictures on the zip line, we opted to move ahead. Then we were brought to a place were we can have river rafting on kayaks and “kawa hot bath”. Kawa is a large vat or pan which long ago was used in cooking muscovado sugar in this place.
At first, I thought that bathing inside this vat seems risky, with the flaring fire under its bottom. My sister and her son immediately decided to take one vat. It almost took me a quarter of an hour to get another vat but my daughter did not dare and she became our photographer. LOL.
Our pictures depict a haven, a paradise, lush forests. As we marvel the landscape, we experienced adventure! ‘Twas indeed a great Monday! There are still many recreational activities that can be done in there: taking the hanging bridges, river swimming and diving, kayaking, exploring the waterfalls and more (but does not include playing edirol.
If you seek thrill and love nature, you must go there one day!
