Adversities can be a stepping-stone to something more grand. Our family has gone through countless adversities and trials but we have survived all of that and now I know we have a gratifying family relationship. My mother and father recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary, just a year away from their diamond jubilee. As with any major endeavor, it takes a great team to make this marriage last this long and still counting.
My mom, at 77, still has unwavering patience and encouragement for us. My dad has steadfast support and persevering love. As a matter of fact, he refuses to stop working for the family if only to give financial support. (At 79, he still would like to personally operate a submersible pump in his farm.)
To Mother and Father, I thank you for your sacrificial and unconditional love to all of us your children and grandchildren. To God our creator, Thank You for giving us our parents. On their 59th anniversary, may You grant them more blessings – best of health and more anniversaries to come. I know that You have a lot more grand moments in store for them.
