On this Lenten Season I have pondered on these “Words to live by”:
John 3:16 ;” For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”; and
John 15:13 & 15; “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends… I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friend, for everything that I learned from my Father, I have made known to you.”
For some, Holy Week may be about taking a “break” from daily routine, from work or school. True enough- , it is really a break from things we enjoy and love, by way of abstinence. A solemn season, Lent reminds us that as our lives and all our material possessions are just “lent” to us.
This is how a friend described it in his text message: “We are all passers-by, pilgrims on the road. We bring nothing when we die but leave behind the LOVE we have shared; the HOPE we have given; and the GOODNESS we have done…”
Jesus is the Son of God, our saviour! His death signifies that “death is not the end”. So then, life must take on a new meaning. This season, let us celebrate a “new life” and we will discover that all is possible because of Him.
Have a blessed week!
