Get Your Finger on Pulse of Home Styles

♦

Home styles, like with other styles of fashions, and do not stick around for too long. They fluctuate, change and evolve. However, despite this fluidity it does not mean that you cannot get your finger placed firmly on the pulse of the latest trends.

In this day and age, there is so much choice when it comes to the latest popular home styles. One such example is the log home. Now, this may seem a bit out there, especially in regards to inner-city houses, but it is popular all the same. They draw inspiration from actual log cabins that date back over 400 years and comprise of a wood face rather than a brick one. However, this style is best suited a rural setting and is completely demanding on the climate of the area. Climates have a direct impact on wood which means only certain woods can be used in certain areas.

Another style of home that draws inspiration from homes that were built 400 years ago is Cape Cod homes. These cottage style homes are a real sign that the homeowner is very keen on traditionalism.

Modern popular styles are not all merely a throwback or homage to the past. There are hosts of modern house plans that cater to those that want to feel as if they are living in the present day and not in the past. These styles typically comprise of dramatic and striking architecture and act as a bold statement that the homeowner wants to be noticed. They display a futuristic curb appeal that does not pander to the needs of the past for an overloading of things. Both inside and out these types of houses are minimalists in their approach. They also incorporate a lot of glass and windows in order to make the most out the natural light offered up every day.

Nature has even more of an impact on modern home styles. What is probably the most popular style of home today is the green home. An eco-friendly home is one that not only adheres to the latest trends but also has a positive impact on the homeowner’s wallet. Energy efficient homes do not leave much of a carbon footprint and they do not leave as big an imprint on the homeowner’s savings either. Maybe this is why it is such a popular style choice.

A home can go green in any number of ways. It could have its windows professionally upgraded to ensure energy does not slip through them. The light bulbs within it could be switched to energy-saving light bulbs. Its heating systems could be maintained. It is not hard to go for a green style, and it is not expensive to do so either.

No matter what your preference is there are always going to be home styles out there that you can enjoy. Moreover, there are always ways to get your finger back on the pulse of the latest styles and fashions if you think it has recently fallen of it.
