Bring Back Golden Days with Figurines

♦

Anyone nostalgic for the days of their childhood or their children’s childhoods will enjoy these attractive Jim Shore figurines. People who like Americana will also be charmed by Jim Shore’s eagle figurine sporting a 13-star flag and bunting.

Disney Figurines

These figurines are of well-loved characters from Disney movies both recent and from the time when a full-length animated film was something new and startling such as figurines of

  • Ariel from The Little Mermaid, her long red hair and blue tail fins swaying in unseen ocean currents,>
  • Belle from Beauty and the Beast, with an inset of her dancing with the beast in her hoop skirts,
  • Mickey Mouse as the sorcerer’s apprentice from Fantasia,
  • Snow White and her prince
  • smooching Mickey and Minnie Mouse and
  • Winnie the Pooh appears with his crockpot of honey
  • a dancing Tigger.

Figurines for the Holidays

Jim Shore also offers a collection of whimsical or devotional holiday figurines. The Tink or Treat pumpkin blends both the holidays and the world of Disney by presenting Tinkerbell atop a large, painted pumpkin. There is also a cute mini-skeleton carrying a hollowed out pumpkin ready to be filled with goodies, a black cat with a witch’s hat and an arched back and a peaceful and oblivious turkey with a tail made of red and blue triangles. On the more religious side, there’s a nine-piece creche for Christmas.

Witches

Figurines of rather friendly witches are also popular. One smiling witch holds her cat familiar, another cuddles a black cat and a raven. Her outfit is crisscrossed with gold chains, and her skirts are decorated with the scene of a graveyard beneath an owl perched on a blasted tree. Another witch holds up a book of magic. Her skirts have a picture of a reclining demon. There’s also a fat cat dressed up as a Halloween devil and a puppy dressed in a witch’s hat and a witch’s cape who is holding a broom.

These figurines will brighten up any room in which they’re placed, especially if there’s a dual amp playing nearby. Whether these figurines are serene, gently amusing or laugh-out-loud funny, they will be a topic of conversation for both friends and family.
